Nigel wrote a new Christmas Carol for the Scottish Parliament’s Carol Service in 2014. The carol was performed by Coro Edina, a very talented Edinburgh choir with a large and varied repertoire, from early renaissance music, through classical and romantic, to the modern day.
This is a children’s Christmas musical written by Nigel during his time in Dundee, where he lived for many years and taught piano. Talented family friends of Nigel’s recorded audio for this; both children and parents can be heard on the audio.
This is a new version of Mary’s Song (sometimes known by its Latin name: the Magnificat). Nigel used an updated text which he hopes will mean more to a 21st century listener. This is the score, and the parts will be published here soon.
Mary’s Song was performed at Christmas 2017 by members of Chalmers Church in Morningside, Edinburgh.
